Our Life's Partner

Wishing to encourage her young son's progress on the piano, a mother took her boy to a Paderewski concert. After they were seated, the mother spotted a friend in the audience and walked down the aisle to greet her.

Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the concert hall, the little boy rose and eventually explored his way through a door marked "NO ADMITTANCE". When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that the child was missing.

Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." At that moment, the great piano maestro made his entrance and quickly moved to the piano. He whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing." Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child and he added a running obligato. Together, the old master and the young novice transformed a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience.

The audience was mesmerized.

That's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't exactly graceful flowing music. With the hand of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful.

Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You can hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing." Feel His loving arms around you. Know that His strong hands are there helping you turn your feeble attempts into true masterpieces. Remember, God doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called. He'll always be there to love and guide you on to great things.

Fun fun fun

Today was great!

I finally had more than enough sleep. I slept at about 1-2am last night and I woke up about 11am this morning. That's about 9 hours of sleep and WOAH that feels ultra good. I actually woke up at 7, but then I remembered I had nothing better to do, so I fell back asleep.

After waking up, my fingers and the piano were reunited! And I had HOME COOKED FOOD!!!

And then I met Tiffany at about 330+. We walked towards the floating platform and attempted to catch a glimpse of the NDP practise and we didn't really get to see much. But we talked a lot, yeah, and that was great. Haha. I know I talk to her online but it's more meaningful to catch up with each other face to face. Then we went to PS where she got her sister a gift and then starbucks! haha. You can read about it her on blog

Then had yummy food at my grandma's house. But I wasn't hungry.. sadly. So I just ate bare minimum. Oh wells. And then I spent a lot of time stoning.

And then I met Gerald at the starbucks at united square. Nope I didn't buy anything this time. That was fun too. I talked to him for soo long. Haha.

I hope I have more of such days here. AND OMG, IT'S SO HOT AND HUMID! I'm kinda missing Melbourne's weather.

OOOHH SENTOSA TMR!

Pre-flight jitters

Pre-flight jitters!

I really don't enjoy taking planes. I really envy those who enjoy the ride, because, woahh. I really cannot stand it.

In a matter of hours, I'll be boarding the plane. Ok I know it's still quite a long way more to go, but still, I'm so so so nervous. Monica and planes just don't go well.

I think I need a lot of prayer. To calm myself down and to make sure that I don't get motion sickness and that my sinus doesn't get bad. Even better, if they all don't come at all. Sigh. Me so so nervous!!!

6 whole months

25th of June.

Exactly 6 months ago (or do you count it as 5 months), I boarded the plane to Melbourne. Time has really flew by. Today marked the last day of term 2 and if not for my Further Math SAC, today would have been really pointless. I didn't have any lessons at all, but I still had to attend school anyway.

Yeah, it's so hard to believe that time has just zipped by so quickly. 6(or 5.. eh maybe it's 5) whole months in Melbourne. Wow. It seems like just yesterday when I was left all alone in Melbourne, facing the four walls, and suddenly just breaking down. Thank goodness for my friends back in Singapore and the support system I had here as well. And now, look at me, I'm more or less settled down and have a group of friends here as well. Life in Melbourne has really been improving I guess.

And wow. In this few months, I really felt myself grow. (No I'm not trying to be ego.) But yeah, I feel like I've grown mentally and spiritually. I'm really glad to have gone to OCF, and I'm even more glad that we did a study on prayer. Talking to God does not seem like a chore anymore. And yeah, many many things have really brought me closer and closer to God. And yeah, there's still a lot more things that I need, but hey, at least I'm getting there!

On top of that, within the last 2 weeks, I've been going for Coffee Ministry by OCF and yeah, it really feels good to be serving in His Kingdom again. Just to bless someone by a simple act of kindness feels so so good. It just reminds me again that God's love is really as simple as that. You don't even have to ask Him for it and it's there. And furthermore, it's free! And in return, He just asks you to believe in Him, trust Him and yeah, He has so much more installed for you. Wow.

Yeah, and in 2 days' time, I'll be back in Sunny Singapore. I'm most probably going to suffer because of the heat, but hey, all the local delights! And yeah, of course, my family and friends. I really can't wait to see all of you!! Oh oh, and not forgetting SENTOSA ON SUNDAY!

Yeah. I honestly hope that time would stop flying by so quickly. (haha, it's as fast as ben eating. haha) We need to pause and smell the roses. Haha. Yeah. Soon we've to make our uni preferences and all, STRESS! Oh well.

I'M COMING HOME SOOOOONNN!!!!!!

My First Fruit Basket

Today with the help of Jinli and wonderful suggestions from Aiwee, I made a fruit basket for Chris. Haha. I was supposed to buy it I think but I had no idea where to buy it from and so Jinli and I had to go to the Reject Shop to buy the basket, wrapper and ribbon and to Safeway to buy the fruits.

Wahh the process of putting the whole thing together was not easy man. I don't think I'm ever going to say that fruit baskets are overpriced again. Haha. It's seriously not easy you know. Haha.

The end product is something to be really proud of. Haha.

Presenting to you, my first fruit basket. With a lot of help from Jinli!
